"Sommervase" was the first of Salto's models to be introduced in the Royal Copenhagen model catalog in 1931. The present vase is thus an unusually early example with a rutile glaze developed by fellow ceramicist Patrick Nordström (1870-1929).
The present vase is pictured in a 1967 catalogue from Royal Copenhagen.
